Fledgelings is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who provide fun, safe and nurturing surroundings for pre-school children to play together and for their parents and carers to meet up socially, make friends and gain support in a very welcoming environment.

All the Fledgelings volunteers have pre-school aged children of their own, and are familiar with the trials and tribulations of child-rearing. We are able to provide helpful advice, or a shoulder to cry on, and we pride ourselves on aiming to offer something a little bit special.

Every week we have free play followed by an exciting craft, storytime with singing and musical instruments, drink and biscuit for the children and tea/coffee for adults made by the Mothers Union. In addition we have regular special events:

We continually strive to improve what Fledgelings has to offer, and your feedback is most welcome. Among other things, it can help us to plan new toy purchases and which stalls to invite to setup in the hallway.

About Us

Christmas Nativity and Party

We held both events in the Church Centre and managed the turn around remarkably swiftly. The church renovations are coming along nicely so we will be able to hold our Easter service in the church again.

A huge number of people came on the day and Father Christmas really struggled with his sack which was bursting with presents!

The Nativity was beautiful as always and also extremely funny, particularly when we discovered that we had 2 baby Jesus’ in the manger!

Especially for  Christmas Fledgelings donated £241 to PresentAid to contribute to various projects around the world including goats and bees, mosquito nets and equipment for children to go to school, even meals for children in Bangladesh.
