St James’ Church, Finchampstead

There’s so much going on at St James’ it’s impossible to include everything here. Visit St James’ website for more detailed information.

Specifically for families of small children we have a special informal service at 9.30am on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.  The 3rd Sunday has a Fledgelings slot where the Fledgelings children get to go up to the front and show the congregation what craft they’ve been making, or any songs they’ve learnt. The service only lasts about half an hour, is extremely popular, and very noisy as all the children are given musical instruments to join in with well-known hymns!

Although aimed at holding the attention of young children, there is still plenty for adults to gain from coming – not least improving your knowledge of the Bible and helping you with your spiritual growth. Also, by having coffee together after the service, you can chat and make friends. To help families feel welcome and at ease here at St James’ we have the Family ConneXions team on hand after these services.

If you’d prefer to attend services without your children to distract you, then we provide Sunday Club for 0 - 11 year olds for our parish communion service. This service is at 11am on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday of the month.
